Responsible Travel
At Tracks and Trails we love the natural environment in which we are privileged to work. That’s why we are committed to continuously reducing the environmental impact of our trips.
We launched our Low Impact collection in 2024 as part of our ongoing commitment to responsible travel and to reflect our commitment to our Sustainable Travel Policy.
Every trip in the Low Impact collection has been designed to include measure that promote responsible travel and reduce our impact.
What Low Impact Means to Us
Taking sustainable travel options
Supporting local businesses
Holidays where you carry all your kit
Embracing hut-to-hut adventures
Eco-friendly group travel: local guides & services
Centre based trips using only one hotel
Train travel discounts
We have based all our Low Impact trips in locations which can be accessed without flying, using train or other public transport links. This allows guests to embrace a slower place and make the journey part of their holiday.
We offer guests a discount voucher when they choose to travel by train or public transport to their holiday destination.
Our Low Impact holidays regularly feature mountain routes that are less frequently travelled. Some are based on the concept of carrying all kit, which helps us to reduce vehicle movements by cutting out luggage transfers. These are often what we described as hut-to-hut adventures. The joy of these is overnighting in beautiful, remote locations.
For those new to this style of travelling, our Fastpacking and Preparing for a Mountain Hut Stay blogs are full of useful hints and tips from the art of packing light to mountain hut etiquette.
We are expanding our Low Impact collection regularly, so do check back to find out what’s new.
