Carbon Off-setting Carbon Off-setting

We have this month planted 70 trees through our partnership with Carbon Footprint. Every time you book a trip with Tracks and Trails you have the option to choose a gift, one of those being to 'Plant a Tree'.

We know this is a small gesture towards sustainability, but we have just signed up to work with Zellar. Zellar is an organisation which helps businesses create an action plan on how to achieve sustainable goals. As you might imagine carbon off-setting can seem like an overwhelming challenge, but now with Zellar we hope to be clearer about what we want to achieve and how we can do it.

So far in our conversations with our Zellar advisor, Becky Connell, we have found their approach simple and clear. Trying to take action with regard to climate change can seem such a massive challenge, that it is difficult to know where to start and what can we realistically do to make a difference. Over the coming months we will be looking at various strategies and projects which will change the way we work on a day to day basis.

At some point in the not too distant future we believe that travel companies will be legally required to show what they are doing to combat climate change and in this respect Tracks and Trails as a company would rather be pioneers than followers.

As we make progress we will keep you updated via our newsletters.
