Trail Running Camps
Our Trail Running Camps are designed for all runners wishing to either improve their performance or simply 'get started' off-road. We base our camps in Chamonix, France, where you're spoiled for choice - an amazing variety of both trails and views of the Mont Blanc range.
You don't need to be a marathon runner or a speed demon to join our running camps! Read the Guardian's write-up of journalist Susan Greenwood's Tracks and Trails running adventure here.
During your week our experienced coaches will share their expert advice and provide you with a balanced itinerary of running, coaching tips and relaxing rest time. Our camps are ideally suited to regular runners who love the freedom of getting out and exploring new places. If you can run 10km or more, at any speed, then our trail running holidays are for you!
Run with us in the heart of the French Alps... it'll be the views that take your breath away!

A Runner's High
REVIEWS!!! In 2012 our June running camps were joined by journalists Susan Greenwood writing for the Guardian and Katy Dartford for Zest Magazine and Sport Sister. To read the reviews go to our News and Press pages.
Great news received from Helen just one week after our September 2012 running camp as she smashes a personal best! "I do believe that all that altitude training really helped as I did feel like i was flying for the first 10 miles - possibly a bit too much." Helen, Sheffield

The route choices are truly endless. We run through traditional Swiss alpine villages, lush high meadows, reach peaks, mountain lakes and high passes whilst surrounded by sublime scenery. We run a point-to-point journey across a lush green landscape whilst soaking up the regional delights along the way.
Our itinerary discovers the diverse countryside of the Regional Nature Park of the High Jura whilst taking in sections of the classic French 'Grand Randonées' of the GR5, GR9 and the Grand Traverse of the Jura. The route, which totals approximately 100km, crosses pastures, climbs through ancient pine forests, links valleys, glacial lakes then ridge tops and even reaches crests and summits where the peaks of the Alps and even Mont Blanc can be viewed.
The Route
- Up to 100km or trail running/walking
- 5 days of linked trails on classic GR routes
- Built in Rest Day
- 2800m of ascent & descent
- Stay in lodges and small hotels
- View the Alps from the high Jura crest
- Run with a small pack whilst your luggage is transferred daily
This guided trail run is designed for regular runners, with off road experience, experience in a variety of trails and conditions would be useful. Enjoy running each day with the luxury of your luggage being transported to the next location, so you only have to carry a light day pack. We will be out for full days running on rolling hills with some steeper ascent and descent. We will use a mixture of running and hill walking all on good trails covering between 13-20km (8-13miles) per day. The route travels from east to west starting from Les Rousses ending in Lancrans, near Bellegarde-sur-Valserine, close to the Swiss frontier.
Trail Running Mont Blanc
The route, made famous in the running world as a renowned ultra marathon starts and finishes in Chamonix, France, and is a complete circuit around Mont Blanc - the highest mountain in Western Europe.
Passing through three countries: France, Switzerland and Italy, our version of this justifiably popular trek/run has been adapted to fit into a week and is suitable for regular trail runners looking for a serious challenge also making ideal training and race/route preparation for the North Face Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc.
At the heart of the European Alps, the massif of Mont Blanc straddles the borders of France, Italy and Switzerland and includes some of the most spectacular mountain scenery imaginable. Runners are spoilt for choice in this part of the world, but one obvious challenge is to complete a circuit of the Mont Blanc massif. Follow in the footsteps of world class runners Killian Jornet and Lizzy Hawker who hold course records on this well-known long distance journey (or Grand Randonnée) known as the Tour du Mont Blanc.
The Route
- 168km in length
- 6 days of guided trail running/walking
- 9616m of height gain and loss
- Ideal preparation for the North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc®
- Enjoy hotel accommodation in the valleys
- Travel through 3 countries
- Luggage transfer provided
Enjoy a guided point to point trail run (with fast uphill hikes) carrying only a day pack and stay in comfortable valley hotels at the end of each night. The average distance covered each day is around 30 kilometres (18 miles) and it's likely we will be on our feet for 6-8 hours per day. There's no doubt this trip involves a lot of ascent and descent so this trip is suitable for regular trail runners who are also used to a variety of mountain trails and conditions. Your luggage is transferred between hotels so you need to carry no more than a day pack.
UTMB Race Preperation
Timed to provide runners who have entered the 48 hour running challenge around Mont Blanc known as the North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc®. This week offers runners invaluable endurance training and race route knowledge. Runners will gain everything they need to know from our local running guide about the course, the terrain, and a chance to practice with their clothing/equipment and work out their ideal race nutrition plan.
