The 25km’s of the Verdon Gorge makes it the largest canyon in Europe which slices through the limestone plateau midway between Avignon and Nice. With easy access from Marseilles or Nice our 6 day trip it's an ideal escape to the sun, fantastic scenery and historic mountain villages.
Some areas, especially those further south in Europe, are arguably better visited out of the main summer walking season. Benefit from quieter walking paths and hotels, cooler temperatures (more comfortable to walk in) and witness the new budding flowers of spring or the lovely golden autumn glow.
